Our Services: ecoL
ecoL is a wordplay with "école" (French for school), which communicates our concern for learning effectiveness. It also reflects our focus on learning for eco-development (eco-Learning), and on technology-enhanced collaboration (e-Collaboration).
ecoL Services
The ecoL initiative provides services for IT-based solutions including collaboration, learning, eco-product education, and course materials. It utilises Drupal’s powerful functionality to provide customised platforms to assist your organisation. To learn more about these services click on the links below.
eCollab is an online platform supporting collaborators, within any organisation, share information and communicate irrespective of distance and time. This platform can improve the communication and information flow of your organisation. The other ecoL services also rely on eCollab.
eCollab users include organisations from the civil society as well as from the public and the private sectors in Europe and North America.
Based on the eCollab platform, ecoLearn is a learning package that:
- Translates sound academic content into knowledge that is accessible to non-specialist audiences.
- Follows a learner-centric model that includes original quality criteria and that can facilitate distance learning or complement classroom learning (blended learning). The user-friendly design and interface makes the educational experience enjoyable, engaging, and easy to use.
Combining the power of the eCollab platform and the scientific basis of the ecoLearn platform, ecoLpub is designed to increase consumer awareness of the eco-products they consume. It provides information about your product in response to the following questions:
- What is the eco-product?
- Why should I use the product and why is it better than the ones I currently use?
- What is the impact of my decision as a consumer?
The answer to these questions will be based on sound scientific references supporting the eco-innovative product and presented under a digestible educational format. ecoLpub may be hosted on our website and/or your organisation's.
Eco Innovation members are developping a portfolio of course material in various fields relevant to Eco Innovation's mission. Most course content is formatted for institutions of higher education and can be adapted to suit specific needs and programs.
More about our Course Materials
Our review of learning tools available in the area of sustainable development suggests that the existing supply is far from meeting the ever-growing needs for effective learning tools.
ecoL helps enhance learning effectiveness through its innovative e-module concept. This e-module acknowleges the priority of learners over content, which translates to:
- an original set of quality criteria (summary table),
- an original Drupal-based architecture combining media-rich content and learning services in a flexible and innovative way,
- the adaptation of media tools to the resources available to target audiences (example),
- the collaborative design and customisation of the module with the client
Do you need to enhance your content management system across your organisation, in a customary fashion? Do you have an e-module idea in mind for specific audiences? Would you like to advertise your eco-products in a sensible, sincere yet catchy way? Contact us for details.
