Dancing for the climate

The Big Ask again is an initiative of the Belgian film director Nic Balthazar, in cooperation with the Climate Coalition. They realized a first film in 2008 to call on the world’s decision-makers to take action against climate changes.

Now they are looking for movie extras for a second film. So come and dance for the climate in Ostende on the 29th of August!

Vegetal city

A wonderful exhibition at the Musée du cinquantenaire in Brussels: Vegetal city, a vision by the architect Luc Schuiten.

For 3 decades now, he has imagined sustainable cities and buildings where shapes and colours are inspired by nature. Managing resources in a sustainable way is a key concept of the projects.

Cradle to cradle

In the general framework of the Realty trade fair held at the Tour and Taxis in Brussels, the architecture firm Art&Build had invited Michael Braungart to talk about the Cradle to Cradle theory.

Guerilla gardeners

I heard about this organization recently.

They are growing flowers and green in big cities to cheer up too mineral surroundings.

& they even exist in Brussels.

(so don't be surprised if you tumble on a sunflower in the centre of Brussels one of this days)

Environmentally sustainable urban development : round table at the Brussels Enterprise Agency

Yesterday I attended a round table about sustainable urban development at the Brussels Enterprise Agency, situated in an amazing ancient stockroom building along the canal.

Speakers were Kiran Katara, a facilitator for sustainable urban quarters at the Brussels Environment Management Institute (IBGE), and Steven Beckers from the architect firm Art & build.
