Paul Stamets

Paul Stamets loves mushrooms.

Not only in his plate but in many places where sustainable development is at stake and particularly where humans need to:

  • produce sustainable energy (turning cellulose into ethanol for example);
  • get rid of polluting waste and regenerate soils;
  • produce bio-active substances to treat smallpox and other diseases;
  • produce pesticidal tools that trick insects into eating them.

He explains his interest in a 17-minute, lively and illustrated talk posted on ted (technology, entertainment, design). (recorded in Feb. 2008 in California).
