Marco Barzman

Marco Barzman co-founded Eco Innovation with Frédéric Morand and Marjolein Visser as a way to frame and foster their collaboration in R&D for sustainable development.

Marco's recent and current activities include consulting with the INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique, France) in the SLIM and LEARning projects, as well as with CIRAD (Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement, Montpellier, France). Marco is also Assistant Coordinator for the ENDURE network of excellence, commenced in January 2007. ENDURE is an initiative to reshape European research and development on pesticide use in crops for the implementation of sustainable pest control strategies.

Marco specializes in the promotion of environmentally-sound agriculture through policy, education, and research initiatives emphasizing participatory theory and practice. He is currently working on the development of a conceptual framework for collective action as a tool in the development and implementation of agricultural and environmental policies. He holds degrees in Biology (B.Sc.) and Entomology (Ph.D).
