Marco Barzman

Marco BarzmanI co-founded Eco Innovation with Frédéric Morand and Marjolein Visser as a way to facilitate our collaboration in R&D in sustainable agriculture.

My recent activities include working at INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique, France) in the SLIM and LEARning projects, as well as with CIRAD (Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement, Montpellier, France). I am currently at INRA working as Assistant Coordinator for the ENDURE network of excellence, commenced in January 2007. ENDURE is an initiative to reshape European research on crop protection for the development of management strategies less reliant on pesticides.

In general, I specialize in the promotion of environmentally-sound agriculture through policy, education, and research initiatives emphasizing participatory approaches. I have a B.Sc. in Biology from UCLA and a Ph.D in Entomology from UC Berkeley. I have worked in California, Ireland, France, Vietnam, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Bangladesh.
