** Lands in transition (Lake Tahoe)

(Fred, 21 Nov 2008)

One of the best references so far (since we've found it in 2001 - on a CD at friends living on Lake Tahoe's shores): a simple interactive presentation on the management of the Lake Tahoe (California), by Purdue University: http://www.gouldcenter.psu.edu/lit/

  • simplicity
  • attractivity, engagement of visitors (compulsory quizzes + experiential sequence when you have to take management decision)
  • good provision of content under audio format coupled with written transcripts of interviews.
  • rather low key but effective

This review helps us design a set of innovative quality criteria for our own concept of learning services, as well as for related research initiatives (example).

To date (Nov. 2008) over 80 tools have been reviewed, from a diversity of sources including internet and DVD content. Only a sample of this review is displayed below. This page is about to be revamped into a database structured according to systematic quality criteria.
